How did Rome’s republic differ from Greek democracy? How were they similar?

A

However both allowed male citizens to vote, but in Rome all citizens were allowed to vote , however the wealthy’s vote was counted for more than the poor. In Greece, they only allowed free adult males over the age of 30. Both didn’t allow women to vote.

Describe Roman religious practices.

A

Early Romans believed in invisible shapeless forces known as numia. All of these forces protected something, offered sprits goods to make them like them. Early Romans were polytheistic. Tried to remain the “pax deorum” (peace of the gods). Sacrifice and other rituals. Based their gods off of the Greeks.

Italy was a crossroads in the Mediterranean, and Rome was a crossroad within Italy. Rome lay at the midpoint of the peninsula. The Tiber river was on one side and on the other was a double ring of seven hills that helped with natural protection. Long growing seasons and conditions suitable for a wide-variety of crops.
