Primary caregiver fathers spend more time smiling, imitating and holding infants than secondary caregivers which seemed to be important in forming an attachment
What was Fields conclusion?
Fathers can be the more nurturing attachment figure and take on a traditionally maternal role. The key to attachment is level of responsiveness not gender of parent
