In choosing his opponents who would react violently King knew that the media would broadcast those images around the world. People were horrified by the violence blacks were facing leading to a vast amount of support for the movement across the globe.
Limitations
The violent white backlash that MLK relies on as a part of his peaceful protest terrified some blacks and as a result they hindered support for the movement as they genuinely feared their lives
