Q

Explain how sedimentary rocks are formed

A

Weathering and erosion breaks down rocks into small rock fragments called sediments. These are transported to the sea by rivers, ice and wind. Sediments are deposited in seas or lakes and covered by fossils. Compression turns the sediment into sedimentary rocks.
