A
The Fecal-oral route:
Contaminated food (shellfish) or water
Binds to TIM-1, expressed by T-cells and hepatocytes
Asymptomatic children patients release viruses in feces through bile

Signs and Symptoms of Hepatitis A virus
A
- Due to the patient’s own immune response (Cytotoxic T lymphocytes, NK cells, Abs, C).
- The virus is not Cytolytic
- Infections DOES NOT cause chronic liver disease or cancer
- Complete recovery occurs most of the time
