What are interlocking spurs
A
The river cuts down into the valley. If there are areas of hard rock which are harder to erode, the river will bend around it. This creates interlocking spurs which link together like the teeth of a zip. It occurs in the upper course.

Waterfalls
A
From where a river flows over an area of hard rock followed by an area of soft rock. The softer rock is eroded creating a step in the river.

Plunge pool
A
When erosion occurs at the base of a waterfall, rocks and water scrape away from the bottom, creating a plunge pool.
