AI disadvantages
A
- military use of AI
- More than 30 nations have or are developing armed drones - eg. US, UK, China, Israel, Russia and South Korea
- most controlled remotely but future weapons could search for, identify and decide to engage targets on their own
- saves human lives on one side but at global scale will this escalate tensions?
- humans cannot react fast enough to defend ground vehicles from missiles = protection systems to automatically sense and defeat threats
