Describe in detail two rights and responsibilities of citizens in the world power you have studied
P-Right to freedom of speech and to say what they want within reason.
E- The responsibility that goes with this right is to respect the views of others, to tell the truth and not slander others.
E- For example, a US citizen could not claim that President Biden was preparing to go to war with Iran if they had no evidence to back it up.
P- Another right that US citizens have is the right to protest if they disagree with something.
E-The responsibility that goes with this right is US citizens must act peacefully, inform the authorities and not to break the law.
E- For example, in Trump supporters acted irresponsibly in January 2021 by storming the Capitol building as they refused to accept that Trump had lost the presidential election.
Describe in detail two political rights that the citizens have in the world power you have studies
P- One political right that citizens in the USA have is the right to stand for election.
E- There are many different positions at federal, state and local level that people can try to get elected to.
E- For example, Joe Biden of the Democrats and Donald Trump of the Republicans ran for President in 2020.
P-Another political right that citizens in the USA have is the right to protest
E- This means that they take part in a demonstration to show their support or disproval of something to hopefully get the media and government’s attention.
E- For example, in June 2020 people took part in nationwide Black Lives Matters protests following the death of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis. Citizens in all world powers have rights and responsibilities
