2-12 days incubation
Headache, fever, malaise, myalgia, toxicity, vomiting, confusion
MACULOPAPULAR RASH
GI symptoms, periorbital swelling, stiff neck, conjunctivitis and arthralgias
DX: sypmtoms and tick bite
TX: start without laboratory confirmation
DOXYCYCLINE!!
Tick protection and prompt removal
ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPOTTED FEVER
Punched out ulcer covered with a blackened scab that indicates the location of the mite bite

ALL GRAM NEGATIVE
ALL OBLIGATE INTRACELLULAR PARASITES
ALL TRANSMITTED TO HUMANS BY ARTHROPODS except Q fever
ALL FEVER, RASHES AND VASCULITIS except Q fever and Ehrlichiosis

Tx: DOXYCYCLINE, ERYTHROMYCIN
