Failure in mineralization of the growing bone or osteoid tissue. (Osteomalacia in mature bones)

A
- Nutritional / Iry rickets 7
- Intestinal malabsorption 3
- Defective production of 25(OH)D2 -CLD
- Increased metabolism of 25(OH)D3-enzyme induction by anticonvulsants like phenobarbital
- defective production of 1,25(OH)2D3-3
- target organ resistance to 1,25(OH)2D3

Diagnosis of rickets?
A
Low ca,low po43- (but high in renal rickets), ALP high , maybe pth high and vit D low
Xray of the wrist joint- cupping,flaying,osteopenia ,widening of epiphysis
