Inflammation of the nasal passages + sinuses

obstructed osia (obstruction of the openings of the sinuses into the nasal cavity)
- viral, bacterial
- allergy
- nasal polyps

Manifestations of rhinosinusitis?
A
- Can be acute, subacute or chronic
- similar to common cold
- headaches
- facial pain
- fever
- nasal discharge

Diagnostics of rhinosinusitis?
A
- history, physical
- chronic cases: xray; CT scan

Treatment for rhinosinusitis?
A
- Antibiotics; topical steroids (nasal spray)
- Mucolytic agents
- symptomatic mangement
