- lack of precision in terminology
- promises analysis in terms of logical emotional and ethical appeals, actually talks about speaker, speech and audience
- assumes audience is passive
- does not say enough about situation

Argument: God will reward nonviolence. We are pursuing our dream nonviolently. God will grant us our dream.
He leaves the premise that God will reward nonviolence out.
