Labs of SLE
-anemia / leukopenia (lymphopenia), thrombocytopenia
-ESR elevated during flare; CRP - nL
-positive Coombs
-Complement depressed during active disease
-
antiphospholipid antibodies
(lupus anticoagulant / anticardiolipin)
-incr. risk of arterial/venous thromboses / libman-sacks endocarditis
elevated anti-dsDNA
renal involvement
anti-Sm
specific for lupus
-only present in 1/3 of pts
anti-Ro / anti-La antibodies
-may cause congenital heart block in fetus
diagnostic criteria for kawasaki disease
fever for 5+ days & 4 of:
1) acute - erythema of palms/soles + swelling hands/feet
chronic - periungal peeling toes/fingers
2) polymorphous exanthem
3) bilateral bulbar conjunctival injection
4) changes on lips/oral cavity (erythema, cracked lips, diffuse oral mucosa injection
5) cervical lymphadenopathy > 1.5 cm (unilateral)
