Number Sentence
An equation or inequality Ex: x < 4 or 9 + 1 = 10
Negative Numbers
Numbers that are left of zero on the number line.
Positive Numbers
Numbers that are right of zero on the number line.
Opposites
Numbers opposite of each other on the number line. Ex: 2, -2 or -25, 25
Rational numbers
Number in between whole numbers (fractions or decimals that repeat or terminate). Ex. 3/4, 2.890
Integers
Whole numbers, numbers represented on the number line. Ex: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Inequality
Show a relationship between two numbers when they are different. Ex: x > 5
Algorithm
A plan on how to solve an equation that, no matter what the values, you always get the correct answer.

Addition
Add together, right on the number line.

The answer for a subtraction problem.
