McNeil island
Vsls restricted within 100yds of McNeil island, which is prison property
Naval restricted area carr inlet boundary
Waters of Carr inlet bounded on the southeast by a line running for
Gibson pt. On fox island to Hyde pt on McNeil island and northwest by a line running from green pt. To Penrose pt.
Naval restricted 1
-shall be used as an acoustic range for research studies and special noise trials. No explosives shall be used

No marine craft of any type shall approach or remain with in 100yds of hydrophone buoys. Buoys will be anchored in carr inlet on a line opposite ketners pt and about 1nm from fox island shore

Buoy testing area- no Vsl shall at anytime anchor or tow a drag of any kinds within 1000yds of buoy testing area

Remainder of area shall be open to navigation at all times except when range in use or hydrophones being calibrated. When In use red or green quick flashing beacon lights will be displayed on signal towers located at Gibson pt, green, Penrose, Pitt island and Hyde pt.

When red beacon lights are displayed indicating range in use or hydrophone being calibrated, navigation within area will bd restricted as follows
- no power board except to traverse within 200yds of low water mark at green pt. Permission indicated by green flashing lts
- non powered craft are also restricted to points near shore
- commercial traffic and Towboats will signal by VHF ch 14,13,12 or 6 or by telephone in advance. Signals to be directed at “care inlet range control”
- red and green signal flags will also be mounted on the towers in case of failure of lights
