State of altered consciousness, stimuli does not cause waking up

4 stages of nREM sleep in order, then reversed including REM sleep instead of stage 1 nREM sleep
Sleep deprivation
Decrease in the amount, consistency, and quality of sleep. Resulted from decreased nREM or REM sleep
