List the order of the respiratory system
Trachea, bronchus, bronchiole, alveoli
How do we inhale?
Our diaphragm becomes flat which causes our lungs to inflate
How do we exhale?
Our diaphragm becomes dome-shaped which pushes air out of our lungs
How does gas exchange occur in alveoli?
When deoxygenated blood passes the alveoli, oxygen is transferred into the blood and carbon dioxide, into the alveoli, which we then breathe out
What is the formula for cellular respiration?
Glucose(food) + Oxygen(inhale) = Water + Energy + Carbon Dioxide(exhale)
How do the three systems work together to enable respiration in cells?
The digestive system provides the glucose/energy; the respiratory system provides oxygen; and the cardio vascular system carries the glucose and oxygen to the cells in our body
