Respiratory system 2 Flashcards
What is the trachea? location?
15-20 c shaped, larynx->T5, extends down to pulmonary
What is a Main bronchi?
right liver is shorter, wider, more vertical, incomplete cartilage rings
What is a brachia carina?
looking down at the junction and there a ridge between them.
What is a Lobar bronchi?
3 Right and 2 left, left is superior, size of vessels get smaller, keep it open, not rings they become cartilage plates
What is segment Bronchi?
lobes are broken up in segments 10R and 10L, Cartilage plates, tubes going to each segment.
What are Bronchioles?
Large to small, terminal bronchioles are the smallest of the conductive zone, begin after the bronchioles end, Terminal bronchioles lose goblet cells and cilia/ more smooth muscle
What are lungs?
Cone shaped / apex extension above the clavicle. The lungs face the mediastinum and costal surface out layer. 3 Right wider, thicker because liver pushes up on the lung, 2 left smaller. Cardiac notch connected to apex of the heart,
Roots of lung?
Bronchi, pulmonary blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves (hilum contains all the roots)
Lungs lobules?
Pulmonary Arteriole, pulmonary venule, lymphatic vessels, terminal bronchioles, elastic CT wrap (connective tissue)
Lobules?
Saccule or cluster, 100 lobules each lobule has 30 to 40 alveoli, Capillary exchange
Each role of Lung lobules
- Blue blood 2. oxygenated blood 3. tissue 4. all have some split 5. Elastic help breath
Pulmonary Alveolus?
3 Types
1. Pneumocyte T1 - Gas exchange location
2. Pneumocyte T2 - secrete pulmonary Alveolar fluid to keep environment soft and moist
3. Pulmonary macrophages - wander around - Basal membrane and capillaries lined by epithelium
Pulmonary Respiration
just breathing
