What indicates yellow/green sputum?
Presence of cellullar material, mostly in bronchiectasis
What is heamoptysis?
blood stained sputum
What is the most common cause of heamoptysis?
Acute infection (exacerbations of COPD), pulmonary infarction, bronchial carcinoma, TB
What is rhinorrhoea?
A runny nose
What indicates a productive cough?
Chronic bronchitis
What indicates a dry cough?
Asthma or acid reflux
What indicates a worsening cough?
Lung cancer
What causes orthopnea?
Breathlessness when lying down, due to weight of the abdominal contents pushing against the diaphragm
What is paroxysmal noctural dyspnea?
Acute episodes of dyspnea at night, due to hairt failure
What is/ what causes URTI?
The common cold. rhino/adeno/corona virusses
What is seasonal rhinitis?
Hay fever
What is rhinitis?
Sneezing attacks
What is pleural effusion
Water in lungs

What causes pleural effusion?
Heart failure, infection and cancer
