Describe crackles
high pitched crackling or popping sound like rice crispies usually due to sudden inflation of alveoli and small airways with fluid present
Describe rhonchi
low pitched rumbling, growling or snoring usually caused by mucus in large airways and may clear with coughing
Dscribe wheezes
high pitched, musical sound like whistling caused by airflow through narrowed, constricted airways
Describe stridor
high pitched, harsh, crowing sound heard on inspiration caused by a partial upper airway obstruction
Describe Pleural Friction Rub
Creaking, grating sound
