CI for SGA
• Contraindications
- Intact gag reflex or resistance to insertion
- Strong jaw tone or trismus
- Suspected epiglottitis or upper airway obstruction
precaution for SGA (4)
Precautions
- Inability to prepare the Pt in the sniffing position
- Pts who require high airway pressures
- Paediatric Pts who may have enlarged tonsils
- Vomit in the airway

10mg salbutatmol rpt 5mg @ 5/60 to SE
500mg atrovent once only
dexmethasone 8mg IV/Oral
Adult critical asthma mx?
- 500mcg IMI adrenaline rpt 500mcg @5-10/60 x 3 (max 1.5mg)
2. if unresponsive to IMI adrenaline - consult for IV adrenaline/if thunderstorm asthma 20mcg @2/60
