- trauma, nasal foreign body,
- neoplasia (sarcoma, adenocarcinoma, nasal polyps, lymphoma)
- dental disease (oronasofistula, tooth root abscess)
- Infectious - nasal mites, lingitula serrata, infectious canine respiratory disease complex, aspergillus, cryptococcus, penicillium, rhinosporidium
- Inflammatory - lymphoplasmacytic rhinitis
Misc.
- Primary ciliary dyskinesia

- Infectious - feline upper respiratory disease complex, cryptococcus, aspergillus
- Inflammatory - chronic rhinosinusitis
- Dental - tooth root abscess, oronasal fistula
- Trauma, nasal foreign body
