Resp Hopfully Flashcards
What are the nerves to pharynx motor and sensory
Motor
- vagus nerve 10 or x
- glossopharyngeal nerve 9 or ix
Sensory
- nasopharynx maxillary nerve 5 or v
- oropharynx pharyngeal plexus ix
- laryngopharynx pharyngeal plexus nerve 10 x
What are the outer membranes of larynx
- thyrohiod
-cricothyroid - cricotracheal
Inner membrane of larynx
- quadreangular
-Conus Elasticus
(Crico-thyroid membrane)
What is the motor nerves of larynx
Recurrent laryngeal nerve
Cricothyroid is external laryngeal nerve
Sensory nerves of larynx
Above vocal fold (arytenoids) is internal laryngeal nerve
Below vocal fold (cricoarytenoid) is recurrent laryngeal nerve
Arterial supply for larynx
Superior and inferior thyroid arteries
Veinous and lymphatic drench
Thyroid vein
Deep, cervical lymph nodes
Oblique arytenoid
Narrow the laryngeal inlet
Transverse arytenoid
Approximate the arytenoid and adduct the vocal folds
Posterior cricoartynoid
Pulls arytenoid backwards and abduct vocal folds
Lateral cricoarytenoid
Vocal process medically and adduces vocal folds
Cricothyroid
Tense the vocal folds by pulling thyroid cartilage forward and tilting the lamina of cricoid backward
Vocalis muscles
Parallel to vocal ligament and adjust tension of it
Thyroarytenoid
Shorten and relax the vocal folds
Pulls arytenoid towards thyroid cartilage
What are the motor nerve for diaphragm
Left and right phrenic nerve
