Define RESOURCES?
- They are the things that people use to achieve their goals.
- Can be any object, person, concept, idea, ability, skill or quality that may assist a person in the attachment of these goals.
- Help people to achieve quality of life. Their use is influenced by goal priority, needs and values.
How does one effectively use and manage resources?
- Identifying and using resources that could be available.
- Making decisions about how to use resources effectively.
- Using resources in the most efficient way possible to satisfy current and future needs and wants.
Define HUMAN RESOURCES.
What people can do or the skills and abilities people have and those resources that cannot be used independently of other people.
What are examples of HUMAN RESOURCES?
- Energy
- Time
- Interests
- Intelligence
- Sight
- Language skills and abilities
- Knowledge
- Ambitions
- Love, confidence, enthusiasm, talents, initiative, cooperative and creativity.
Define NON HUMAN RESOURCES.
Non human resources are tangible things or objects that exist externally of people. They can be seen, experienced and used by people. Non human resources are also known as material resources. Some non human resources are limited while others are in great supply.
What are examples of NON HUMAN RESOURCES?
- Food
- Parks
- Cars
- Computers
- Clothing
- Petrol
- Food
- Electricity
- Space, books, clubs and shelter.
Define interchangeability of resources.
- Resource interchangeability seeks to substitute or use one resource for another thus preserving resources that may be limited and utilising those that are in abundance. (Sustainability)
- Sometimes skills are exchanged, a neighbour may help you with painting the house and you may assist with their gardening.
Define RESOURCE SUSTAINABILITY.
- Some of us choose to overuse the resources we have available to us and some people choose to conserve their resources.
- Responsible management of resources, especially those in the environment.
Define infinite in terms of resources.
Is sustainable and has no limit.

What are some strategies the government to conserve our resources?
- Selecting focal landscapes: to preserve nature, animals, trees and climate.
- Technological developments: solar power, wind power, current power and electric cars.
- recycling and banning plastic, one-use shopping bags.
