What are behavioural categories?
A
The set behaviours that you are expecting to see. Ordered in a tally of behaviours

What is event sampling?
A
Doing a tally recording every time a researcher sees a particular behaviour

What is time sampling?
A
Sampling behaviours over a timed period. This is very specific

What is naturalistic observation?
A
You observe people’s natural behaviours - you have not set anything up for the research.

What is covert observation?
A
The participants do not know that you are watching them

A
The participants are aware that they’re being watched
