What is a lab experiment?

conducted in highly controlled environments .

What is a field experiment
A
Where the IV is manipulated in a natural more everyday setting

What is a natural experiment
A
The researcher measures the effect of the IV on a DV however the researcher has no control over the IV and cannot change it - someone or something else causes the IV to vary

What is a Quasi experiment
A
When there is an IV based on an existing difference between people no one has manipulated the variable it just exists it also cannot be changed
