how do you use the brake pipe mode key switch

A

1 uncover the key switch
2 insert master key
3 turn to the 2 o’clock position
4 observe the brake pipe mode indicator lights are flashing (one on the fault panel one in the windscreen)
(turned in the coupled cabs not the lead cabs)

isolate yellow A side electrical isolate
(the driver of disabled authorised the movement the assisting performs the ease up)
once coupled isolate trip cock bypass
isolate VICERS
operate mode switch
observe mode switch flashing lights
isolate trip cock MCB
isolate TRACTION CONTROL UNIT in all motor cabs of disabled train ( this will inhibit the holding brake you will not see holding pressure)
move to set speed
set pilot valve
coast and reset trip ensure light is not illuminated

deactivate the cab SPB on
go to coupled motor and operate BPM switch accordingly
turn the key switch to 1 o’clock
observe light flashing red
back to the lead
isolate VICERS
activate cab
go to forward set hand of foot reset trip and remain in full service
