• measure the diameter of view
• draw scale bar

Describe the method of using microscopes to observe plants:

1. Place slide on stage and secure with clips
2. select lowest power for objective lens (4x)
3. Adjust so lens is almost touching slide by using coarse dial
4. Look through eyepiece and turn coarse dial so the distance increases to focus with fine focus dial
5. repeat for other objective lenses
6. Draw the magnification scale
