Name 2 of the sperm cells adaptations
The sperm has a flagellum to move towards the egg. The head of a sperm cell is covered with an acrosome which release enzymes to digest the egg cell membrane
Name 2 of the egg cell adaptations
The cell membrane changes after fertilisation so only one sperm cell gets in. The cytoplasm has nutrients to support the development of the baby after fertilisation.
What happens during sexual intercourse
Semen is ejaculated into the vagina. The sperm cells travel through the oviduct to reach an egg. The sperm cell gets into the cell membrane; this is called fertilisation. The zygote divides and forms a ball of cells: the embryo
