Reproduction Flashcards
Fallopian Tube / Oviduct
This is the connecting tube between the ovary and the uterus. It is here that a egg cell travels through and where the cell is likely to be fertilised
Uterus
This is where the baby grows during pregnancy. It is separated from the vagina by the cervix
Testes
Where sperm cells are made
Sperm Duct
The tube that connects testes to the urethra (where sperm is released in a man’s penis)
Placenta
It is the thing that holds the mother and foetus together. It also delivers nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the foetus.
Zygote
When the egg cell and the sperm cell fuse together.
Amniotic Sac
A membrane that encloses the foetus and prevents any entry of bacteria.
Amniotic Fluid
It supports and protects the foetus from mechanical damage. It also absorbs urine released by the foetus.
