Repeated Measures ANOVA Flashcards
1
Q
Repeated Measures ANOVA
A
- All subjects tested under x number of treatment conditions
- Called within subject design
- More Powerful
2
Q
What is the advantage?
A
- Individual differences are controlled
- Tx differences and error variance will account for group differences
3
Q
Why is this better?
A
- Repeated measures are taken therefore error variance analysis is smaller than randomized experiment
- Reduces the size of the error term in ANOVA resulting in a larger F ratio
- Less variation = More powerful test!
4
Q
Single Factor Repeated Measures Design
A
one IV, all levels of treatment applied to all subjects.
Example: What are the differences in isometric elbow strength with the forearm in 3 positions: pronation, neutral, and supination.
5
Q
What is wash out?
A
Randomization of the order of treatments applied to account for fatigue and habituation
6
Q
Multifactor Repeated Measures Design
A
Can be:
* 2 Way Within Subject/Factor
* 2 Way Mixed Design/Factor (One between, one within)
