1
Q

A
  • All subjects tested under x number of treatment conditions
  • Called within subject design
  • More Powerful

Q

What is the advantage?

A
  • Individual differences are controlled
  • Tx differences and error variance will account for group differences

Q

Why is this better?

A
  • Repeated measures are taken therefore error variance analysis is smaller than randomized experiment
  • Reduces the size of the error term in ANOVA resulting in a larger F ratio
  • Less variation = More powerful test!

Q

Single Factor Repeated Measures Design

A

one IV, all levels of treatment applied to all subjects.

Example: What are the differences in isometric elbow strength with the forearm in 3 positions: pronation, neutral, and supination.

Q

Multifactor Repeated Measures Design

A

Can be:
* 2 Way Within Subject/Factor
* 2 Way Mixed Design/Factor (One between, one within)
