What are the complications of a UTI?
Can cause cystitis, renal infection, prostate infection
What are the symptoms of a UTI?
Dysuria, urinary frequency, cloudy urine, offensive smelling urine, supra-pubic pain.
What are the common microbial causes of a UTI?
Usually E.Coli (85%) Can also be caused by staph, fungi, virus and TB
What are the treatment options for a UTI?
Increase fluid intake, occasionally antibiotics required (amoxycillin, trimethoprim), frequent urination.
