How should the Magill forceps be held?
A
In the right hand, grip with thumb and use index finger to steady forceps.

The airway, to ensure visualisation of vocal cords.

How should the forceps be advanced along the laryngoscope?
A
Closed, along the groove of the laryngoscope (at right angles to it), with the tips closed until approx. 2cm away from foreign object.
