Q
What is the general purpose of a remedy?
A
The general purpose of most remedies is to restore the plaintiff, as far as possible, to the position they were in before the wrong occurred.
That is, remedies aim to provide the plaintiff with the means to go back to how they were before they were wronged, and before they suffered a loss.
