What do Legal practitioners do?
A
- Legal practitioners represent parties, which is necessary because they are experts in court procedures and invest themselves into providing the most fair and equal trial possible for a party.
- Legal practitioners have special duties and obligations imposed by statute. Their most important duty, is the duty to the court and the administration of justice. They must not deceive the court, and must comply with the courts.

Responsibilities of LP: Making an opening and closing address?
A
- If a party is legally represented, a legal practitioner will usually make an opening and closing address.
- The solicitor will usually prepare the submissions, and the baristas will ordinarily present them in court.

A
- If witnesses give evidence orally, a barista can cross examine them
- Legal practitioners must present their case in the best interests of their clients, but must comply with any overarching obligations whilst doing so.

- They should see the role as assisting the court, rather than engaging in a battle for a side
