16
Q

How is PSS a driver for reman?

A
  • PSS reduce the uncertainty of when and how many cores that arrive to reman.
  • Gives possibilities of condition monitoring that can provide useful data for reman.
  • It facilitates OEM reman. with much product data knowledge from reman and good feedback loop to product design.
17
Q

How can you overcome though reman challenges?

A

With PSS and full core knowledge

18
Q

How is reman good for the environment?

A
  • End-of-life hierarchy

- Less operation steps. You dont need to extract raw materials etc to get the product since its already there

19
Q

What are reman. customer values according to companies?

A

A more price-worthy option in comparison to new products.

It provides a faster solution and is a good option to discard used products

20
Q

What are the economic challenges with reman?

A
  1. Staying competitive/profitable
  2. Core access
  3. Lack of customer awareness
  4. Product design issues
  5. Process efficiency issues
21
Q

What are reman. key resources?

A
  1. Technical staff
  2. Access to cores
  3. Facilities, machinery and equipment
22
Q

What are the companies view on environmental benefits of reman?

A
  1. Reduced material consumption
  2. Reduced CO2 emissions
  3. reduced energy consumption

  2. Investment goods
  3. Consumer products
25
Q

What does PSS offerings consist of?

A

Combination of physical products, services and systems that have been integrated and optimized from a life cycle perspective in relation to the customer value

26
Q

What is the key to realizing effective PSS?

A

Information flow. It is important to make the information useful and to get a good understanding. –> Actors and System map Method can be used

27
Q

What are the reman. industry sectors in Sweden?

A

Automotive, machinery, Computer, Toner cartridges, medical equipment, wood industry, office furniture

28
Q

Give examples of reman products in the different industries

A
Automotive: engines, brakes
Machinery: heat exchangers, forklift, trucks
Computer: PCs, printers, scanners
Toner cart: cartridges for copy machines
Medical: wheel chairs
Wood: wood pallets and packaging
29
Q

How does reman products stand in comparison with a new from an environmental aspect?

A

A new engine 9,8 kg C02, a reman is 0,53 kg CO2 at UBD cleantech

30
Q

How is the ideal life-cycle of THM forklift trucks?

A

Long term rental 3-7 yrs. Short term rental after that in 1-3 months. Then remanufactured –> used –> remanufactured and used and lastly scrapped

31
Q

In what way is reman good for the environment?

A
  • Reman is prefarable option in comparison with new manufacturing and other end-of-life options.
  • Chances to close the loop for safer handling of toxic materials
