Q

Sources of moral authority for Catholics

A

The Bible:All Christians use the bible. It is God’s word in the form of a book. Christians believe that God reveals all of his teachings here.

Church Teaching:Roman Catholics look towards the Pope and the church(priest, bishops, documents, catechism) to help explain Gods teachings.

Tradition:Catholics believe there have been prominent Christians who have further revealed an interpreted God’s word.

Conscience:We have the freedom to choose our own actions and many Catholics believe our conscience is God speaking to us, guiding us to make the right decisions and to lead us towards him.
