The predator eats the prey. A predator is usually a carnivore
Prey
A prey is the animal or plant eaten by the predator. The prey is usually a herbivore

The third consumer in a food pyramid or web
10% rule
The energy or glucose passed on to the next level of the food chain or web
Energy pyramid
A pyramid that shows the energy getting passed in an ecosystem. The bottom of the pyramid shows the producer and the top shows the tertiary consumer
Symbiosis
A relationship in which two different organisms depend on each other for survial
Mutualism
A symbiotic relationship in which both species benefit
Parasitism
A symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits while the other is harmed
Commensalism
A symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits while the other is unharmed
