A

MARRIAGE ISN’T AN OPTION - same sex marriage only became legal in NI recently, so before this cohabitation was their only option

EXPENSES - weddings can be seen by some as a waste of money, money of which could be put towards a house together
UNNECESSARY - some couples are opposed to marriage/ don’t think they’re relationship needs to be validated by law/marriage

Catholics believe a couple can never get divorced and that they are married until death - they took vows to promise that they would stay married for life. A bond made before God in church can never be broken by divorce.
