Explain the act?
A
- Eligible convictions or cautions become spent after a specified period of time known as the rehabilitation period.
- Length of time depends on the sentence or disposal imposed & the persons age at the time.

Spent convictions in insurance?
A
Don’t need to be disclosed to insurers.

Examples of disclosure periods (2)?
A
- Driving Disqualification - Over 18 & Under 18 do not need to disclose from when the period of disqualification has passed.
- Sentence of Custody for Life - Over 18 & under 18 - sentences are excluded from rehabilitation and always need to be disclosed.
