What are the measures which link economic activity with social implications? (3)
Health - people who work in chemicals or building work more likely to suffer bad health/diets from poor income.
Life expectancy - gender, income and diet
Education - better education better job so better life style/boys often score lower than girls/poverty=bad education
Intergenerational cycle
Under achievement and bad life style likely to be passed on through generations - cycle needs to be broken.
What are the four quality of life indices?
Economic - employment opportunities, income,purchasing power.
Social - marginalisation, age, gender
Services - health, education, transport
Environment - pollution derelict land
What are the four functions of a place?
Administrative (school, council offices)
Commercial (offices, legal services, accountants)
Retail (shops-small to malls)
Industry (factories)

Accessibility/connections - transport links and fibre optics
History - past deindustrialisation, land value
Physical - located near CBD/coastal erosion
Planning - restructuring economy, tighter regulations of green belt
