Treatment of Rectal Cancer
A
In Stage II disease - long course chemoradiation prior to surgery.
Conventional fractionation chemoradiotherapy over 5.5 to 6 weeks using concurrent fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy is preferred over initial surgery if the patient can tolerate it.
