Religion offers comfort/women likely to experience organismic deprivation experiencing physical and mental problems - Religion offers hope/explanation to why they suffer.
Socially deprived – oppressed by patriarchy/limited job opportunities = religion offers explanation and justification to help deal with this
DAVIE argues = Women closer to God has given gift to bring new life into the world/feel more connected to him
