What was the issue with colonial isolation?
The colonies had to pay taxes to each other.
What was the issue with political deadlock?
There were 10 different governments in 10 years so nothing could get accomplished.
Why was the US threatening?
They wanted to take over unsettled land in the West.
Describe the Reciprocity Treaty.
The Reciprocity Treaty was an agreement between Canada & U.S.A. to abolish duties on raw materials - it was NOT renewed.
What was the issue with the railway?
The railway was expensive and the colonies could only afford them if they came together.
