Tell me about the Chinese labourers.
They were promised money, work and immigration papers. They worked the worst and most dangerous jobs. They did not get paid as much as the white workers. They had to pay their own food, shelter, medical care, transportation. Many of them died and their families were not notified. Many of them could not afford to go back to China. Canada imposed a suspension on Chinese immigration after 15,000 labourers had already built the railway.
