Real Estate Security
a share of an investment in real estate; an indirect way to own real estate that is different than direct ownership, earning a financial return with out having to manage or maintain the underlying real estate asset
Two Types of Securities
real property securities and real estate syndicate securities
Real Estate Security
a share of an income producing investment that has real estate as an underlying asset
Real Property Securities
investments in a single loan note or contract secured by a parcel of real estate, where the payments on the note or contract are guaranteed by the person selling the security; a permit from the Real Estate Commission is required before real property securities may be sold to the public
Real Estate Syndicate Securities
investment shares in a real estate syndicate (a partnership or other noncorporate entity set up to invest in real estate that has 18 or more investors); the person that forms the partnership and sells the investment shares is referred to as the issuer of the real estate syndicate securities
