  • highest degree of purity
  • will list level of impurities on label
  • used for research, producing controls, standards or buffers
  • ACS (American Chemical Society) my be found in addition / in place of AR
  • gold standard

A
  • usual purity for lab analyses (not used for research)

Storage of Acids and Bases

A
  • in glass bottle on drip trays, separately, in explosives cabinets and carry using rubber splash/ fracture bucket
  • if diluting acids, always add acids to water, not water to acids explosive
