Presentation of reactive arthritis

A

Can’t see, can’t pee, can’t climb a tree:(arthritis, conjunctivitis, acute arthritis)
Tends to affect the large joints: ankle, knee

Investigations for reactive arthritis

A

Joint aspiration to exclude septic arthritis and crystal arthropathy
↑ESR, ↑CRP

Treatment of reactive arthritis

A

NSAIDs
Steroid (injections or systemic)
>6mnths of symptoms:
sulfasalazine or methotrexate
