what are the pull factors of re-urbanisation
A
- movement of industry and businesses out of cities due to S-urbanisation, C-U and deindustrialisation may leave land derelict, government policies favour redevelopment of brownfield sites, attracted back by new developments
- Urban Development Corporations (UDCs) set up in UK to regenerate derelict urban areas and provide attractive environment for people to live and work
- most unis based in urban areas - young people move for education
- young single people want to live close too work with good entertainment services
- once started, it tends to continue attracted more businesses and people

- may be a lack of jobs in some rural or suburban areas
- rural areas provide fewer leisure or entertainments facilities
- counter-urbanisation may cause high house prices in rural areas

what are the positive impacts on the city centre of re-urbanisation
A
- new shops and services open as more people move, boosts the economy in the city
- jobs are created as shops and businesses return, less unemployed, helps reduce crime e.g. theft
- tourism in city may increase if city centre is improved, more money into the city, can be spent on improving area
- local state schools benefit from more students
