RC Revisit List Flashcards
what does it mean in RC when the answer choice states: It provides information that qualifies a claim presented in the first paragraph.
Qualifies == LIMITS: “Qualifies,” in this case, means “limits.” So, if the first paragraph says, “Economists predict XXXXX,” and the second paragraph says “XXXXX will be true when YYYYY is true, but not when ZZZZZ is true,” then the second paragraph qualifies the claim–it doesn’t not dispute or contradict the claim, but rather limits its applicability.
The passage does not indicate that Szalay has anything to say about the micro-wear patterns on the teeth.
REMEMBER: if X disagrees with Y, and Y doesn’t say anything about a sub-component of X’s argument, then Y doesn’t know anything about that specific sub-component of X’s argument therefore B is clearly wrong.
